The adorable, roly-poly panda has a big appetite. 

 

Pandas eat about 14-27kg of bamboo leaves every day. 

 

To consume that much, they spend about 16hours a day just eating. 

 

Bamboo is hard to digest and low in nutrients, so pandas must keep eating endlessly Pandas also feed on the leaves or tender stems of other plants, as well as small bugs or insect larvae. 

 

Pandas living in zoos also enjoy fruits like apples and and even yogurt as a special treat.

 

Pandas are an endangered species. 

 

This is due to the destruction of their habitat, changes in the ecosystems, and difficulties in reproduction. 

 

The biggest reason is that the bamboo forests where pandas live are in decline.

If we want to keep seeing adorable pandas, it is up to us to preserve their habitat.
