COVID-19 and the Hotel Industry / 코로나19를 극복한 호텔 산업

 

I am a man in my late 40s.
I have been working in the hotel industry for 24 years.
The COVID-19 pandemic that dragged on for three years created the worst-case scenario for the hotel industry.

Before COVID-19, more than 80% of guests at major hotels in Seoul were tourists visiting from abroad.
So, many hotels face difficulties when foreigners were denied entry during the pandemic.
There was even a very tough time when hotels were limited to a maximum occupancy rate of 66%.

 

Thankfully, as of the second quarter of 2022, the hotel industry has begun to show signs of recovery.
Foreign guests who had been absent for a while started to trickle back.
As a result, I have been using English more and more often.
This is the driving force that makes me study "입트영" diligently every day.
