Paper Books / 종이책

Back in my day, most information could only be found in paper books.
That's why I still have a soft spot for them.
Even after reading a book that I took out from the library, I might buy a copy to hold on to.
I sometimes buy a book to begin with, if it seems worth having.
If I buy a book, it's to underline passages and jot down my thoughts in the margins.

E-books have become commonplace, and I respect the opinion that we should think twice about using paper books, considering environmental issues.
But, as someone who studied in the analog era, I enjoy flipping through pages and it's easier to concentrate that way.

The book I bought recently is nearly 1,000 pages long.
The footnotes alone take up about 100 pages.
I'm the kind of reader who doesn't read footnotes.
It occurred to me that we could save around 100 pages of paper if the footnotes could be accessed via QR codes.
