[EBS입트영 3/18 Tue] Gout, Again / 나의 두 번째 통풍

Abou seven years ago, when I was in my mid-50s, I woke up one morning and tried to get out of bed,

only to find that  my left foot hurt so much that I couldn't walk.

At the orthopedic clinic, I was told there was nothing wrong with my bones. 

So, I went to an internal medicine clinic for a blood test and was diagnosed with gout.

Gout is a condition where uric acid builds up in the body.

It mainly affects the joins, fingers, and toes.

Typically, if your blood uric acid level is 7 or higher, it is diangosed as gout.

Since my first gout attack seven years ago, I've managed without medication, relying on weight loss and exercise. 

But recently, I experienced a painful recurrence.

I'm now taking traditional herbal medicine prescribed by an oriental medicine clinic that specializes in treating gout.

The medicine helps expel uric acid through urination.

I'm also taking preventive medication to manage my uric acid levels.

I'm determined to treat this properly this time, so I don't have to endure this pain again.
